Sikh Man Removes Turban, Uses It To Save Drowning Dog

He's being hailed as a hero after using his turban to lower himself into an irrigation canal to save a drowning dog.

Sarwan Singh, a 28-year-old man from India, unraveled his turban and used it to lower himself into an embankment to save a dog that was drowning. Singh can't swim, so he wrapped the dog in his turban and had his friends pull them both back to land.

"The moment I started taking off my turban, people watching around were shocked," Singh said. "They thought I was disrespecting my faith. But what was important at that point was to save the animal's life."
