A store where you used to be able to buy garden tractors, shoes, and appliances is now the go-to store for pot.

While the Sears store at Genesee Valley Center on Linden Road in Flint still sits empty, the building that was home to a Sears store in Coldwater, Michigan is now occupied by Skymint. The 4,000 foot space is the weed retailer's 15th location, located at 352 S. Willowbrook.

The Sears store in Coldwater closed its doors in 2019, about a year after the location at Genesee Valley Center in Flint was shuttered.

Skymint's president of retail, Summer Ransom-Cleveland formerly served as the visual director for Urban Outfitters, so transforming the former Sears location into a dispensary was an easy task.

“SKYMINT is known for creating a destination space in each of SKYMINT’s chosen cities, and our new SKYMINT Coldwater retail store is just that with 4,000 sq. ft. of exploratory, artfully staged product vignettes and accessories, including coffee table books, clothing, countertop infusion kitchenware, hand-made and vintage ceramic smoking accouterments, and more,” Ransom-Cleveland said in a press release.
