Some people head to the big city on the 4th of July. Others run in the opposite direction. If that is you, head for the quiet country hamlet of Hadley for the "Not your ordinary Run-of-the-Mill race." The race starts and finishes at the Hadley Mill in Hartwig Community Park.

If you've never been to Hadley, it's a little southeast of the Flint area. Get off I-69 at M-15 and head south to Hill Road. Head east a few miles and you'll find yourself smack-dab in the center of downtown Hadley. Hill Road becomes Pratt Road once you cross into Lapeer County.

There is no online signup for this one, but a downloadable entry form can be found here: www.hadleytownship.org/files/Download/2012%20run%20of%20the%20mill.pdf

The course is flat and fast on paved roads around and through town. Hadley is known for it's hills, but you won't find any on this 5k course. The big hills are a few miles to the south of town. Head down Hadley road and cool off at Big Fish Lake afterward. You'll see some of the hills on the way!
