A local journalist just happened to be there for the heroic moment.

Costi Tudor was covering an apartment fire in Pitesti, Romania, when he caught something unbelievable on his phone: a firefighter, performing CPR on a dog that had been removed from the building, and had collapsed from smoke inhalation.

Firefighter Costache Mugurel performed mouth-to-mouth and chest compressions on the dog, before giving him an oxygen mask. His owner had been taken to the hospital. The dog is in stable condition, and Mugurel received recognition from his fire chief. *tear*
