Community Food Giveaway in Flushing Set for June 25
Families facing tough times can pick up free groceries later this month thanks to a local ambulance company that’s stepping up to help. Patriot Ambulance Service is teaming up with Companies Feeding Families for its annual Community Food Giveaway, happening Wednesday, June 25 at 7:30 a.m. at Flushing Church of the Nazarene.
Why This Giveaway Matters
More than 1.2 million people in Michigan face food insecurity, according to Feeding America, and that includes one in every seven children. Events like this local giveaway aim to ease that burden, offering support to families who may be struggling to put meals on the table.
Who's Behind the Event?
The Patriot Ambulance crew has made this food distribution a yearly tradition. It’s a chance for staff, family members, and friends to come together and give back to the community they serve every day.
“This event is very close to my heart,” says Jeff Yorke, Owner of Patriot Ambulance Service. “It’s about showing up—not just in emergencies, but when people need a helping hand. That’s what being part of this community truly means.”
In addition to answering emergency calls, Patriot Ambulance regularly participates in community outreach efforts, from educational events to charity drives. The food giveaway reflects the organization’s core values: compassion, service, and a commitment to making a difference.
