Parler: The Next Big Social Media Thing
Ok...I'll bite.
I'm really not even on social media much these days. I took Facebook off my phone except for Messenger (in case my mom wants to reach me...seriously). I also removed Twitter. I hang on to Instagram because...well I really don't know why. I have convinced myself it's not as bad as the other two. But for the most part, if I'm not at work posting on it, I'm not really doing the social media thing these days.
I think the whole political/election thing has soured me and a number of other people. That and I'm getting older and I'm really tired of the ads and just noise of negativity.
I know people that long for the days of Myspace. It was a simpler time and you spent an eternity getting your Myspace page together. There was no hacking or Russians or anything. It was peace.
But now we've got everything from Twitter to Snapchat to Facebook to Instagram. Make room for one more. Introducing Parler.
Or as my friend put it...PARLOR.
Nope. It's Parler.
Think of it as Twitter but not Twitter. And I find it hilarious that they have a Twitter account and they are the anti-Twitter.
It's anti-Twitter for the conservative set who don't want to be censored. It's making the rounds and getting it's mentions and hashtags especially after the election.
Speak freely and express yourself openly, without fear of being “deplatformed” for your views. Engage with real people, not bots. Parler is people and privacy-focused, and gives you the tools you need to curate your Parler experience. (Parler)
Parler is a United States-based microblogging and social networking service launched in August 2018. Parler has a significant user base of Trump supporters, conservatives, and Saudi nationalists. Posts on the website often contain far-right content, antisemitism, and conspiracy theories. Wikipedia
As of this month (November 2020) it's listed as having more than 4 million users. (Wikipedia)
It should be available in your app store or Google Play (where I found it).
