My Theory on ‘That Death’ in Stranger Things 3 [SPOILERS]

Do NOT...I repeat, DO NOT read on if you haven't watched Stranger Things 3 on Netflix and plan to do so. Spoilers lurk below...or shall I say, in the upside down?

My favorite character throughout the entire series has been, without a doubt, Hopper.

Once I stopped crying, I over-analyzed the post-credits scene. And if you didn't sit through the credits (which weren't that long) to see it, shame on you. Go back and watch.

If you blinked, you missed it - "No, not the American."

We KNOW "the American" is NOT Murray, because he was with Joyce when the Americans stormed the underground lair of Starcourt. So...who's the American in the Russian prison?

WHAT IF IT'S HOPPER?!?!?!

What if, when the machine exploded, Hopper wasn't eviscerated like the Russian scientists...but instead was transported to the upside down?

Here I thought I was a genius, until I realized that there are a ton of YouTube videos with the same freakin' theory. Either way, here's one of the better ones. DON'T TAKE AWAY HOPPER YET! I'm not ready to lose him!
