One of the biggest & oldest 10 mile races in the country. #TheCrim #CrimStrong

I can't believe it's been one whole year already! It's gone by so fast!

Our first year in the Flint area has been outstanding. Don't get me wrong; moving your entire family across time zones is a difficult task, but we did it. And we couldn't be happier.

In no particular order, here are my ten favorite things about living here:

10. The Crim (see above photo)

It was the first big event that we worked here. I had no idea what it was. But the amount of people and the positive energy was intoxicating. In no way, shape or form did I think I'd be running it this year; I hadn't run since cross country in high school! But I am absolutely thrilled to be running the historic 10 miles this weekend. I'm looking forward to a hot, emotional and amazing day on Saturday!

9. The Michigan Renaissance Festival

At the Michigan Renaissance Festival!

What can I say about the Ren Fest? I minored in history in college, so I love this stuff. I can't get enough of it. And I am super excited for our "takeover" this weekend with the Pat & AJ Revolution!

8. Flint Farmers Market

Had to take Auntie Jodi to get some Michigan nom noms!

Our boss took us here right after we got off the plane for our job interview here, and we were sold. At the time, it had only been open for a few weeks. One year later, we've had our Christmas and St. Patrick's Day parties here, and we filmCooking With Cars here as well. Any family that has visited us has been introduced to the Farmers Market, too!

7. The Local Theater Scene

Theater has always been a passion of mine, so I was thrilled to find out that Flint and the surrounding areas are rich with community theater opportunities! So happy to have been cast in shows at the Flint Community Players and Lapeer Community Theater.

6. The Food

Our coworkers have been telling us to try Freakin Unbelievable Burders since we moved here! So. Darn. Good.

The food options are amazing. Need I say more?

5. The Events

AJ was out at the Holiday Inn this morning with NBC25 News to talk about Workd's Greatest Office Party for Whaley Children's Center tonight!

The events, whether it's Back to the Bricks or a charity event, are plentiful. There's a lot of them, and they're all very well put together. I've enjoyed each and every one of them!

5. The Autism Support and Resource Center

Hanging out at the kids social at the Autism Support & Resource Center :)

We've known about our son's autism diagnosis since he was in pre-k, but aside from the school system, we didn't have a lot of outside support. Moving here has been a blessing! We're so happy to be involved with the Autism Support and Resource Center, P.O.W.E.R. Camp, the autism walk and the autism golf outing!

4. The Halloween Scene

I've got $20 that says AJ wets her yoga pants! ~Pat

We're both big fans of Halloween, and we love the haunted houses in the area!

3. Crossroads Village and Huckleberry Railroad

Another place that everybody talked about when we first moved here, and our first trip was at Halloween for their trick-or-treat event. If you haven't been there yet, GO! Now!

2. Our Radio/TV Relationship

Awwwww yeah! Wore my Halo Burger t-shirt for our WNEMTV5news segment that airs on Sunday mornings! AJ wolfed down one of their turkey burgers, too. ~Pat #HaloBurger

We have a great relationship with WNEM-TV5 News. We've covered Back to the Bricks, The Crim and Pancakes on the Bricks with them, and we recently started airing Love Court on Thursday mornings with them. They're a great team, and we're happy to be their radio partners!

1. YOU!

YASSSS!!! Kyle from Saginaw won the $1,000 gift card from Genesee Valley Center!!! We're here til 8 with more gift cards AND chocolate bars!

Not to sound cheesy, but without you, we wouldn't be here. If there's nobody listening, there's no radio show. Your support means the world to us! THANK YOU for an amazing first year in Flint, and here's to many more!
