It’s hard to believe that it’s already August, and fall will be here before you know it. If you haven’t yet had the chance to enjoy all that Michigan has to offer this summer, time is running out. There are four boxes you need to check to ensure you get the most out of a Michigan summer: Food, Concerts, Outdoors, and Events.

Michigan-Made Food & Drinks

Having food or drink created in Michigan is a start. If you’ve had Faygo, Vernors, Better Made Chips, a bowl of Kellogg’s or Post cereal, a Koegel Vienna or a Ball Park Frank, we’ll even settle for Halo Burger—you can check this one off the list.

Outdoor Concerts in Michigan

Next is the experience of a Michigan outdoor concert. Whether you’re on the lawn at Pine Knob, Soaring Eagle Casino, Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre, or even Meadow Brook, nothing beats taking in a concert on a nice summer night.

Enjoying Michigan’s Great Outdoors

Michigan is beautiful year-round, but being able to enjoy the outdoors without five layers of clothes and two coats only happens a few months each year. Spending at least a day at the beach, on a boat, or camping is a Michigan must. You can also add fishing, hiking, and just sitting around a campfire to this category.

Must-See Michigan Summer Events

Finally, there are all of Michigan’s awesome events that take place all summer long across the state. Celebrating everything from the Renaissance era and blueberries to golf and bass fishing, there is certainly an August event in Michigan that can get any Michigander excited. Here are just a few:
