The Charters family of Bay City was going through something very, very tough: watching their dad, Jeff, go through kidney failure. They watched him go through months of dialysis for hours a day. When the doctors told them that it was a three to five year wait on the donor list to get a kidney, they knew that they had to do something.

So, in April, his daughter Kim started a Facebook page to help him find a kidney. Ironically enough, they found a match - on the first day of the campaign. One of Kim's classmates, Rachael Milks, got tested...and found out that she matched. She gave her kidney to Jeff on August 10th.

They're both doing well. Pure Michigan kindness!
