Michigan State Police are taking an extra step to combat against distracted driving.

In Jackson today, state troopers are going undercover in a new initiative to stop distracted drivers. It's called Get Your Head Out of Your App, and it encourages drivers to put their phones away. Last year, there were 753 crashes related to cell phones, including three fatalities and 251 injuries.

Obviously, cell phones are the most obvious cause of distracted driving. However, troopers will be looking for all forms of it. If an undercover officer sees a violation, they will alert a trooper.

It's so painfully obvious when people are on their phone while driving. This shouldn't be too difficult.
