Unlock the Beauty of Michigan: 2023 Peak Fall Color Predictions
Hold onto your pumpkin spice lattes, because the most beautiful season of the year in Michigan is just around the corner! Autumn is about to paint the town in a breathtaking burst of colors, and we've got the inside scoop on Michigan's peak fall color predictions for 2023.
Michigan pretty much offers up something spectacular for each of the four seasons, but there's truly nothing quite like the colors that cover the state during the fall. From the Upper Peninsula on down, autumn in Michigan offers leaf peepers from across the country a place to travel to see some of nature's finest beauty.
According to Awesome Mitten, this year will not disappoint those who love those cooler temps and cozy sweater days. The site just released its annual 'Peak Fall Color Predictions for 2023', and the foliage fireworks are expected to start hitting their peaks as early as the last week in September for some areas in Michigan.
Michigan is blessed with a ton of stunning spots to witness the fall foliage spectacle. Head to the Upper Peninsula for a wild and remote experience in places like Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park. Or maybe venture to Traverse City for those scenic vineyards and orchards set against a backdrop of all that fall has to offer. Both of those locations will offer the earliest spark of color in the state.
According to the predictions for Fall 2023, Michiganders should be able to enjoy color somewhere in the state through the month of October. Awesome Mitten does note that although they do their best to give some idea of when leaf peeping will be at its very best, things such as temperature, precipitation, and species influence when the leaves change each year. It can also determine how long the colors last and the vibrancy of the colors.
