Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’ Jacket Sells for $1.8 Million
According to PopCrush, the iconic leather jacket that Michael Jackson wore in his famous ‘Thriller’ video sold for $1.8 million over the weekend at Julien’s Music Icons auction.
The jacket went to bidder Milton Verret, a Texas-based commodities trader, who says he will show the jacket “around the country in a tour that will help raise money for children’s charities.”
According to the report, the jacket was only supposed to sell for about $200,000-$400,000. Part of the proceeds will benefit the Shambala Preserve.
The sale comes just two years after the death of Michael Jackson.
