More local heroes working around the clock.

With the bus routes in Genesee County shut down until May 4th, a lot of people are in danger of not getting the food that they need, including but not limited to senior citizens.

A good portion of the residents at Linden Lane Apartments in Flint Township are seniors who use the buses to do their shopping.

So, the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan, Forgotten Man Ministries of Grand Rapids, Mass Transportation Authority, the Genesee County Sheriff’s Department and Undersheriff Chris Swanson all donated commodity boxes.

Boxes included milk, juice, chips, potatoes, apples, chicken and melons including grapefruit. And, of course, toilet paper. A group of about twenty sheriffs went to each floor with gloves and masks to deliver the boxes.
