My mom makes amazing homemade stuffing, so when I moved to Evansville, Indiana in 1999 a new tradition began. That year, I called her on a whim while I was grocery shopping and asked for the ingredients for her turkey day treat. Later that evening, I called her to walk me through making it. Sure there were times where I had to wait, so did I write down the remaining steps? Nope! I just called her back over and over until I was done.

My first attempt wasn't great, but it was good. Over the years I've gotten better and better, yet to this day I still haven't written anything down, and that's what makes this tradition so charming.

For the first time since 1998, my parents were in town and we ate dinner together this Thanksgiving. But because my family and my wife's family were all going to be in attendance, we knew one turkey wouldn't be enough. That's when I came up with the idea to challenge my mom to a stuffing cook off. Unfortunately, I forgot to ask my mom for the ingredients and recipe.

See how this epic cook off plays out with my in-laws and some of my coworkers.
