On Friday, Soggy Bottom Bar announced on Facebook that it’ll soon reopen under new management, bringing what they call “new energy, great food, cold drinks, and good times” back to the longtime local hangout.

Soggy Bottom Bar Reopening in Flint After Owner’s Death

Tessmer passed away on May 6, and shortly after, the staff announced the bar would be closing indefinitely. For a lot of regulars, it felt like the end of an era and maybe even the end for Soggy Bottom Bar altogether.

Now, it sounds like the bar is preparing for its next chapter.

After the announcement, comments poured in on Facebook supporting the move. While people seemed happy to hear Soggy Bottom Bar isn’t going away, a lot of them were also saying the same thing: please keep the menu and staff the same.

Soggy Bottom Bar Is Now Hiring Bartenders and Servers

As part of the reopening, the new management team says they’re currently hiring bartenders and servers. And honestly, I think a lot of people are hoping at least some of the original staff stick around, too.

According to the post, they’re looking for people with experience, solid customer service skills, and people who want to be part of the new chapter at Soggy Bottom.

When is Soggy Bottom Bar in Flint Reopening?

No reopening date has been announced just yet, but they say more updates, events, and details are coming soon.

While it’s still an incredibly difficult time for the family, hopefully, there’s some comfort in knowing Soggy Bottom will live on, along with Tessmer’s legacy.
