Michigan’s Place Among the Most Sinful States: See the Rankings

While certain states exhibit better behavior than others, WalletHub conducted a comparison of all 50 states using 55 key indicators to identify those that most succumb to their desires and engage in what many would consider immoral or illicit behavior.

There's a lot that goes into determining what states are considered the most sinful.

To determine the most sinful states in America, WalletHub compared the 50 states across seven key factors: 1) Anger & Hatred, 2) Jealousy, 3) Excesses & Vices, 4) Greed, 5) Lust, 6) Vanity and 7) Laziness.

Although residents of every state have wonderful qualities, people across the nation have their own moral struggles, from violent outbursts and bullying to compulsive gambling, excessive lust, and self-destructive consumption. At the individual level, harmful behavior may only impact a few people, but when a higher share of a state’s population engages in these activities, it diminishes the overall quality of life.

Where Does Michigan Rank Among the Most Sinful States?

Compared to all 50 states Michigan is pretty much in the middle of the pack when it comes to sinful behavior.

Michigan ranks at #21 on WalletHub's most sinful states list.

I don't think it would come as a big surprise that Nevada tops the list of most sinful states.

#9 - Pennsylvania
#10 - Delaware

The least sinful state in the U.S. is Wyoming.
