Ortonville Man Wins $1 Million Powerball Prize
An Ortonville man hit big playing the Michigan Lottery.
Roy Rogers struck it big after matching all five white ball numbers in a Powerball drawing, landing a $1 million jackpot prize on April 29th, 2026.
Rogers, 61, shared his excitement about winning with Michigan Lottery Connect,
I have a Powerball subscription set up on my online account so I don’t miss a drawing. The day after the drawing, I saw an email from the Lottery that was different from the ones I’m used to when I win a few dollars. I knew I must have won big, but I wanted to wait for my wife to get home so we could find out the prize amount together.
The lucky winner said that when he logged into his account later that night, he could hardly believe what he was seeing - he had won $1 million.
So you know the next question - what does Roy Rogers plan to do with his money?
For now, Rogers plans to save the money, but says that eventually he and his wife hope to do something fun with their winnings.

Well, I recently won $15 on two separate Michigan Lottery instant tickets, and I definitely will not be saving my winnings. So now the question is: do I cash out and take my $15, or turn around and buy more lottery tickets?
Who knows, maybe the next Michigan Lottery winner article I end up writing will actually be about me. If that happens, you can bet I will have quite the story to tell.
