Bay County Woman Wins $1.1M Michigan Lottery Jackpot

A Bay County woman is over the moon after winning $1.1 million playing the Michigan Lottery.

The winning ticket was purchased at Beson’s Supermarket in Kawkawlin, roughly 10 miles northwest of Bay City.

The 65-year-old winner, who chose to remain anonymous, hit the jackpot playing Lotto 47. According to Michigan Lottery Connect, she has been playing the game for many years.

I started playing Lotto 47 decades ago when it began and have continued to play every Wednesday and Saturday since. I was watching TV one night when I got a text from my neighbor telling me Beson’s had sold a jackpot winning Lotto 47 ticket. I thought to myself it was cool they had sold a big winner, but it never crossed my mind that it could be me.

Unbeknownst to her, she was indeed the winner and finished watching her show before checking her ticket.

After my show ended, I checked my ticket and went absolutely crazy when I found out I was the winner! I called a few family members and my neighbor to tell them the big news. Winning is such a blessing. I feel like I can breathe again!

I'll say - knowing you have financial freedom has to be the best feeling ever.

It comes as no surprise that she opted to take her winnings as a one-time lump-sum payment of $762,000.

So what is next for this lucky Michigan Lottery winner? For now, she plans to save her money.
