Reduced Pet Adoption Fees at More Than 40 Michigan Shelters Right Now
Been looking to bring a furry family member into your home? Now is the time! You'll find reduced pet adoption fees at more than 40 Michigan shelters in Bissell's Empty the Shelters going on now through July 31, 2024.
Bissell Pet Foundation is sponsoring reduced adoption fees of $50 or less per dog or cat to help pets find loving homes. All pets are microchipped, vaccinated, and spayed or neutered. This event will be hosted nationwide in more than 300 shelters across 40 states, including Michigan.

Since Empty the Shelters began in 2016, the program has helped more than 250,000 pets find homes.
More than 40 locations across Michigan are participating in Empty the Shelters through July 31 including:
- Al-Van Humane Society - 07591 Blue Star Highway, South Haven
- Friends for Animals of Metro Detroit - 16121 Reckinger Road, Dearborn
- Genesee County Animal Control - 4351 Pasadena Ave., Flint
- Harbor Humane Society - 14345 Bagely St., West Olive
- Humane Animal Treatment Society - 1105 S. Isabella Rd, Mt. Pleasant
- Humane Society of West Michigan - 3077 Wilson Ave. NW, Grand Rapids
- Ionia County Animal Shelter - 3835 Sparrow Dr., Ionia
- Kent County Animal Shelter - 740 Fuller NE, Grand Rapids
- Livingston County Animal Control - 304 E. Grand River Ave., Howell.
- Van Buren County Animal Control - 58040 CR 681, Hartford

Note that shelter requirements vary per location. You're advised to contact the shelter directly to complete an adoption application and to learn more about their adoption process.
