Sorry, #LivePDNation. Couldn't even keep the show on the air long enough to get them their own Twitter account.

A&E's hit show Live PD has been officially canceled, less than one day after the cancelation of COPS, which had been on the air for more than 30 years. The network had just ordered 160 new episodes of the show.

LIVE PD episodes were pulled last week after the worldwide protests against police brutality. The hose of the show, Dan Abrams, had been tweeting that the show "could" come back. “All of us associated with the show are as committed to it as ever. We are still discussing some specifics but I want to assure the #LivePDNation that we are not abandoning you.”

In case you're wondering, yes - the show had caught a death in police custody on camera. The episode was from March of 2019 and featured the death of Javier Ambler during a police stop; the footage had since been destroyed.

Yes, really.

Listen, I loved the show. It was great to just "have on" in the background late on a weekend. Unfortunately, that was the problem - we've turned police work into entertainment. Maybe it's time to change that? Change isn't easy, but it can be a good thing.
