It's definitely a bad week for chicken lovers. This week saw two major recalls of chicken products, one from Tip Top Poultry and the other with Tyson Foods.

Tip Top Poultry, Inc., a company out of Georgia, is recalling approximately 135,810 pounds of fully cooked poultry products that may that may be contaminated with Listeria. Those frozen and diced chicken products were produced on Jan. 21, 2019, and have Pack Date of  01/21/19 located on the label. The recalled chicken also has an establishment number of P-17453 inside the USDA mark of inspection or on the case. There is no general area where the products were sold and the  items were shipped to hotels, restaurants, and institutions nationwide.

Tyson Foods issued a recall for the fourth time this year recalling 39,078 pounds of frozen chicken patties sold under the Weaver brand. The the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) said the patties "may be contaminated with extraneous materials."  The recall affects 26-ounce packages of Weaver breaded chicken breast patties with rib meat. Those product affected were packaged on January 31st, 2019. The packages have a best-if-used-by date of January 31, 2020. The packages shipped to retailers have establishment number “P-13456” printed on the back of the resealable plastic bag and the lot codes 0319PBF0617, 0319PBF0618, 0319PBF0619, 0319PBF0620, 0319PBF0621, 0319PBF0622, 0319PBF0623, or 0319PBF0600 represented on the label.
