At $1.97 million, this very well may be the most opulent, luxurious log cabin in the Lower Peninsula - or maybe even the entire state of Michigan. And at that price, it should be, right?

Typically the terms luxury and log cabin are mutually exclusive. But this beautiful home in Fennville defies that narrative, bringing the rustic feel of Michigan's Upper Peninsula to a 3,700-square-foot oasis in Allegan County.

And while this home is a good four hours south of the Mackinac Bridge, it does have roots in the UP. According to Crain's, the home's current owner is a Yooper at heart. Greg Pearson is originally from the Upper Peninsula and a member of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians.

Pearson bought the 72-acre lot where the home is situated about five years ago and set sail on his sixth home-building project.

But now, it's time to sell.

Pearson tells Crain's that he and his wife have decided to move to Florida now that their kids have graduated from college and moved away from Michigan.

Luxury Meets Logs

Unlike most log cabins you'll see, this one has a second-level deck, a three-car garage, and a beautiful screened-in porch.

According to the listing, it was constructed from Michigan-sourced pine and natural paneling. There are three bedrooms, three bathrooms, and even a heated garage.

On the outside, you'll find "a network of trails leading to wild berries, the North Branch Black River, a shooting range, and an abundance of wildlife."

The listing is being handled by Brendin DeVisser of Five Star Real Estate Lakeshore LLC.
