Hurricane Sandy as it approaches, has caused things we never expected to happen. On Sunday the MTA announced the shutting down of the trains and buses in NYC. When a city as busy and bustling as New York City shuts down the transportation, it leaves some scenes that are downright eerie. Their official Flickr page gives us a glimpse of what you would see now.

These empty, almost spooky scenes are from the busiest stations in NYC. On an average day they are a constant movement of people and vehicles. The coming storm has replaced pandimonium with silence. How long will it be until these stations are up and running again? Take a look and see if it doesn't strike you as eerie.
