Earlier this week the very last Hooters in Macomb County closed its doors for good.

Hooters located on the corner of Gratiot Avenue and 14 Mile Road closed its doors for good. The decision more than likely came after the restaurant chain became a victim of the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Georgia-based Hooters of America, LLC said in a statement on Facebook:

Hey Roseville, as of 4/19, we will be permanently closed. The good news is you can still get your wing fix from our Taylor, MI location. We'll miss you.

There are only three Michigan Hooters locations to choose from

It's crazy to think that there are only three locations left and still operating in the state. What's even crazier is that one of those locations is right here in Flint. Hooters on Miller Road is still going strong and hopefully won't fall victim to even more closures. Aside from Flint, you'll also find Hooters in Saginaw and Taylor still open.

Back in the day, there were Hooters scattered all over the state but in the last decade or so, they've slowly been closing their doors. I remember the Hooters in Grand Rapids closed back in 2012 and the Lansing location followed in 2019.

Usually, Flint is the first to see closures but for whatever reason, that's not the case here.

I don't go very often anymore because I'm trying to make healthier life choices but I still go once or twice a year with my buddies.

Their wings, deep-fried pickles, and oysters are the bomb. You'll never change my mind so don't even try.
