The mysterious gunman who has been firing random shots at cars in Oakland, Ingham, Livingston, and Shiawassee counties may have struck in Genesee county, as reports of a shooting in the Flint/Burton area are now coming in.

Flint Police Operations reports on its Facebook page that a possible shooting has occurred in the Burton area near Center and I-69.

We are getting information that a shooting has taken place, with a shot up car on Belsay Rd.

FPO reports that area schools have gone into lock down since the incident is, at this point, unconfirmed by police. No injuries are reported.

As new information becomes available, this story will be updated here, and on Cars 108.

UPDATE, 10:28 am: Burton police report that the damage to the vehicle is consistent with damage usually caused by a BB gun. They also have found BBs left in the area of I-69 and Belsay.

Burton police say there is nothing to indicate that this incident is related to the I-96 shootings that have been occurring in other Michigan counties.
