UPDATE: Michigan State Police have been investigating a possible shooting near Brighton this morning, that was originally thought to be related to the random shootings that have been taking place in four counties, near I-96. Now authorities say no shots were fired.

Police apprehended a man after a foot chase, and his dark-colored vehicle has since been towed. Reports now indicate that the man was taken in on charges unrelated to the I-96 shootings.

In recent weeks, there have been reports of at least 24 random shootings, most have been near freeways. An incident in Burton on Friday was determined to be isolated, and not related to the I-96 shootings.

If you have any information, please contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
