Grand Blanc Students Building Outdoor Learning Pods

Think of a "she shed" but for students to learn in. Make sense?

The chair of the science department at Grand Blanc Community Schools came up with the idea after poking around online. Basically, kids can make "fun" out of anything - they'll tie a sheet around their neck and pretend to be a superhero, use an old steering wheel to "drive" a car, etc.

And that's where the scrap pods idea came from. Grand Blanc High School construction students are building them right now - they'll hold scrap materials and be placed on the playgrounds at Myers and Brendel Elementary school, and kids can go inside, grab scrap material and make something fun out of it.

I love the fact that this encourages creativity with kids AND they're being built by high school students. Fantastic idea!
