Dear Pierce - Hill Harper for Michigan
In the video announcement below, Harper addresses his young son saying that his decision to run for Senate will mean sacrifices, drawing a comparison to Michigan families who struggle with everyday problems.
"It's going to be tough for us, I'm not going to be able to tuck you in every night," Harper begins. "But these are sacrifices so many hard-working families have to make every single day."
According to the New York Times, Harper is planning to run "to the left" of Representative Elissa Slotkin who is known as a moderate Democrat.
The 2024 Democratic primary is expected to draw a tremendous amount of interest as Michigan is a presidential battleground state.
