Congrats Linden: Genesee County’s Only City Without Restaurant Violations in July

For the month of July 84 Flint area restaurants received a perfect Genesee County Health Department Inspection. Keep in mind, the number of inspections per city, and month, vary.

Many restaurants that didn't make the grade often had the following issues:

• Ventilation systems not cleaned properly (think grease traps)
• Not using sanitizer in dishwashers according to manufacturer specs
• Expired food/ingredients in the kitchen
• Hand washing sinks used for storage or dumping drinks instead of washing hands.
• Dirty meat slicers (dried on old food)
• Flies in the kitchen or dining room
