Genesee County 911 Is Updating Their Warning Siren System
After the reports of funnel clouds in Gaines and Burton on Sunday night, with some sirens going off and others not, Genesee County 911 has announced that they will be updating their warning siren system.
This also comes after reports that hackers set off the sirens back in June.
The only option previously was to set off all of the sirens at the same time. Now, it will be a two-way system that can isolate one part of the county or another. The upgrade is expected to be done by the end of this week.
I like what they say in the ABC 12 story - the communities OWN these systems, and this is a step in the right direction.
