General Motors is gearing up to make an announcement tomorrow about their plans in Flint and Bay City. After recent job additions to GM plants in Detroit and Toledo, many are hoping that the automaker will follow suit here in Flint.

Reportedly General Motors will be announcing 80 new or retained jobs in Flint and Bay City after the automaker made huge profits in the first quarter of this year. According to The Detroit Free Press:

GM plans to add or preserve about 60 jobs in Flint after an $80 million investment in the engine plant, which will allow for more production of the 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine in the Chevrolet Volt and Cruze... In the Bay City powertrain factory, GM plans to add or preserve around 18 jobs after a $20 million investment. GM CEO Dan Akerson on Tuesday said GM would add or retain about 4,000 jobs in 17 plants in eight states, mostly in the Midwest. GM has already announced about 250 jobs each in Toledo and Bowling Green, Ky.

If the reports are true this is definitely good news for residents of Flint, if there's one thing this city needs; it's more jobs. I will have all the details of the announcement and what it means for Flint tomorrow.
