The program started on April 1st at the Sylvester Broome Empowerment Village.

Former professional basketball player Linnell Jones-McKenney is literally being the change she wants to see in Flint - she's started a free, after-school program for kids ages 8-17 that pairs them with mentors to help them advance in a sport of their choice.

It's called School of Champions. The MTA provides free bussing for kids to get to Sylvester Broome where they're fed dinner from 4-5 PM and can then choose from classes that focus on baseball, soccer, football, track, swimming, softball, golf, boxing, gymnastic, lacrosse and bowling.

Over 300 students have signed up; for more information on getting your kids into the program, click HERE.
