Frankenmuth Man is Collecting Electronics for Elderly in Quarantine- The Good News
He hopes that this will alleviate some of the loneliness that seniors in assisted living facilities might be feeling right now.
Last week, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer declared a state of emergency because of the COVID-19 outbreak. This included limiting non-essential visitors to nursing homes; seniors are some of the most vulnerable to the virus.
Adam Beller from Frankenmuth has decided to help - he's collecting used tablets, laptops, and iPads to deliver to seniors so that they can stay connected to their families during the pandemic.
His idea was so popular that he got permission from the Frankenmuth city manager to put a dropbox inside City Hall for electronics.
If you'd like to help, Beller is encouraging people to use said drop box (wipe everything down first, of course) at City Hall and NOT to bring electronics directly to nursing homes.
