Cops in Bradford County Florida have begun installing big red reflective signs outside the homes of convicted sex offenders.

Good idea, or does the move go too far?

Bradford County Sheriff Gordon Smith says it simply reinforces information that is already available on the internet, and notes that it also helps protect sex offenders.

"It prevents the sexual predators from being put in a bad situation with kids beating on their doors, they won't have to worry about that, so we're protecting them also."

Smith dismissed suggestions that the identifying signs could lead to attacks by vigilantes.

Tell us what you think. Should Michigan and Genesee County implement a similar program?
