Zach Anderson's fate is currently in limbo, as a Michigan judge says he needs more time to consider the facts in the 19-year old's case.

Anderson was convicted of a sex crime and his name placed on the sex offender registry for having sex with a 14-year-old girl near his hometown of Niles. The girl has admitted that she lied to Anderson about her age, and testified on his behalf at his trial. Although the sex was consensual, Michigan's strict laws about sexual contact with minors mandates that Anderson register as a sex offender.

Those who support Anderson's plea, argue that Michigan's laws regarding teenage sex offenders are too strict; and coupled with the testimony provided by the 14-year-old girl with whom he had sex, say his name should be removed from registry.
