Congratulations to the staff and students!

Usually, when a story starts with the words "Flint" and "schools," it's not a good thing...but not this time.

For the fifth year in a row, the Northridge Academy in Flint has showed up in the list of top 100 schools in the state of Michigan, coming in at 33. The list, which is compiled by the Mackinac Center for Public Policy, is based on schools' CAP score (context and performance report card). They came in as the #1 school in Flint and the #2 in Genesee County overall.

The school's curriculum coach, Evelyn Hamlin, told Flinstide that "we treat our kids like they’re ours while they’re here. You’re here for six hours a day, you belong to Northridge Academy, so everything we need to do to make you successful, we do it.”

And that's obviously one of their keys to success. Congrats! Thanks for taking good care of our future!
