Flint Southwestern Students Transform Courtyard into Classroom – The Good News
The students have been working all summer to convert the outdoor courtyard into an outdoor classroom.
For the last few months, student interns with the General Motors Student Corps Program have been working their butts off to finish the project, which includes a 25x75 foot deck. There's enough room for 24 students, a podium for the teacher and picnic tables.
The courtyard hadn't been touched in over 35 years. Students also saved $200 each for the college education. The program also pairs each student with a retired GM executive to tackle other projects in the community.
It looks FANTASTIC! Congrats to everybody who worked on it!
