Flint Residents Could Be Rewarded for Working Smoke Alarms This Week
The Flint Fire Department and Domino's Pizza have teamed up for fire prevention week in Flint. Fire prevention week began Sunday, October 7th, but if you have working smoke alarms you could win free pizza this Friday.
According to NBC 25, anyone who orders from the Domino's on Ballenger Highway this Friday could win free pizza. You have to place orders between 11:30 am and 1:30 pm on Friday. Anyone that orders during that time may be randomly selected to see if their smoke alarms are working. If they are, the pizza will be free. If your smoke alarms are not working, the Flint Fire Department will replace your batteries, or install a new smoke alarm for you.
Fire Prevention Week has been observed on the week of October 9th every year since 1922. It is always the week of October 9th to observe the anniversary of the Chicago fire in 1871 that caused devastating damage. The National Fire Protection Association has some great fire prevention tips on their website.
