Flint Fire Dept. Installing Free Carbon Monoxide & Smoke Detectors – The Good News
They'll be going door-to-door this weekend on the east side of Flint.
Firefighters will be pounding the pavement this weekend, making sure that everybody has working smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
They'll start in the area of Pierson Road at 8 a.m. and make their way south to Carpenter Road - they plan on ending around 4 PM.
The fire department is looking for volunteers to help install - if you have a drill and a step ladder, you're asked to come to Flint Fire Station No. 6 at 8 AM. Lunch will be provided.
The detectors are provided by donations that came from Michigan Fire Inspectors Society, American Red Cross, International Association of Black Professional Firefighters and the International Association of Firefighters.
