Two Flint Businesses were recently busted for running illegal gambling operations.

On August 18, raids were conducted at two businesses that are located on Corunna Road and North Saginaw Street.

11 video slot machines and 56 gambling computers were confiscated from the two businesses.

What Flint Businesses Got Raided?

Cellular Vault on Corunna Road and Cellular Bank on North Saginaw Street were both involved in the incident.

According to WDIV, The operation was part of a joint investigation by the Michigan Department of Attorney General and the Michigan Gaming Control Board.

MGCB Executive Director Henry Williams:

The MGCB received several anonymous tips regarding both Flint locations, and we thank the public for their help in rooting out possible illegal gambling activities. Patrons at alleged storefront casinos do not have access to the consumer protections required for legal, regulated gambling. The operations also can draw other types of crime to the surrounding neighborhoods.

You don't hear very often about illegal gambling operations happening in the area or businesses being raided. The only other time that I can think of was back in April when roughly 100 gambling machines and $29,200 in suspected gambling profits were removed from businesses in Davison and Burton.

It's pretty crazy to think you could get away with something like that for a long period of time. It really seems like a short-lived crime. There are too many people involved and usually, someone slips up about it. At least that's what I see in the movies anyway.

If you see or hear about an illegal gambling operation, you can contact the MGCB’s 24-hour anonymous tip line at 888-314-2682.
