First Attorney With Autism Sworn In to Practice Law – The Good News
Congratulations, Haley! And thank you for being such an inspiration.
Haley Moss was diagnosed with autism at the age of three. At the time, she could finish a 100-piece jigsaw puzzle but was unable to talk. Doctors told her parents that she may never live independently or carry out a job.
To say that she went above and beyond is an understatement - she graduated from the Miami School of Law, passed the Florida Bar, and wrote several books. She was sworn in on January 11th as the first known person with Autism Spectrum Disorder to practice law.
Haley says that her advice for people with disabilities who are looking for jobs is, "don’t place limits on yourself and knowing what you’re good at helps a lot, too.”
*standing ovation*
