A Michigan man did exactly what many of us would do after winning a $1.3 million jackpot at FireKeepers Casino in Battle Creek—he called his mom.

The Biggest Win in FireKeepers History

Anthony W. Jr. of Detroit struck it rich on the Blackjack Triple Diamond Progressive game, hitting a life-changing payout of $1,376,465.30. Not only was it a dream come true for Anthony, it also marked the largest jackpot in FireKeepers' history.

A Viral Call to Mom

But what makes the story unforgettable is what came next. Instead of celebrating with champagne or a shopping spree, Anthony picked up the phone to share the news with his mother, promising her that the money would be used to improve their lives.

“Momma, we are out of the hood!” he told her. “We’re leaving tomorrow.”
