Fred Evans knew that he was fighting a losing battle when he was diagnosed with metastatic melanoma while recovering from a double lung transplant. Before he passed away in July, he was able to fulfill one wish:  He walked his daughters down the aisle, even though they had no immediate plans to marry.

Two of Mr. Evans' four children are already married. So he teamed up with his wife and oldest daughter to surprise his unmarried children, Gracie and Kate. When they arrived at the chapel, Evans handed them bouquets, and told his daughters that just in case he wouldn't be there for their wedding days, he wanted to walk them down the aisle, and grant them his blessings.
