Here in Mid-Michigan, our roads don't last long. When you stop and think about how long it takes for a road to be resurfaced or completely redone, there isn't much time between the intervals of construction.

A Rough Genesee County Road Is Getting Attention

Sure, the extreme temperature changes have a lot to do with it. But it feels like the roads that are in the absolute worst shape take the longest to get fixed. Just look at Dort Highway. Most of it has been redone over the last few decades, but there are sections with potholes so big they can knock the hubcaps right off your car.

There is a certain section of Dort Highway that has been frustrating Mid-Michigan motorists for years. While the entire stretch of Dort Highway between Bristol and Hill Road has been rough for years, driving down the right lane of southbound Dort between Maple and Saginaw is like driving over every single crater on the moon.

Drivers Will See Construction Starting Monday
