Detroit Shelter Animals Get a Day Out on the Town – The Good News
Be right back, calling the Humane Society of Genesee County to see if we can do this.
Shelter animals in Detroit got a special treat last weekend - it's called Dogventures, and it's the third time that Detroit Animal Control has put on the event for their furry friends.
The premise is simple - volunteers show up at animal control at 9 AM and they're given a fur baby for the day. They then hit the town until 3 PM, wearing "Adopt Me" bandanas.
The doggies were spotted on Belle Isle, the River Walk, local businesses and breweries throughout the day. All but three dogs (who were likely not sociable) were allowed to have a day out.
