Comic Gallagher Suffers Heart Attack
The comic Gallagher has suffered a heart attack just before he was scheduled to perform at a Texas club on Wednesday night. Gallagher, 65, is listed in stable condition at an undisclosed Dallas-area hospital. He was about to go onstage Wednesday at Hat Trick's, a Lewisville, Texas, club, when he fell ill and was transported to a hospital by paramedics. The comedian did a meet-and-greet with fans before the show, then suffered the heart attack just before he was to go on.
Gallagher had suffered a heart attack almost a year ago in Rochester, Minnesota, while performing. The comedian, known for smashing watermelons and other squishy things with his "Sledge-O-Matic" is expected to be hospitalized for at least a couple of days. His shows for this weekend and next have been postponed. Beyond that, the show must go on. You can check Gallagher's web site for future engagements www.gallaghersmash.com
