Alan Thicke: Dead at 69

His publicist has confirmed that he passed away today from a heart attack. 

TMZ reports that Thicke was playing hockey with his 19-year-old son Carter when he began to have chest pains and nausea. He was transported to a California hospital, where he died.

He he is best known for his role on Growing Pains, and had just tweeted about his involvement on Fuller House. He also wrote the theme songs for shows such as Diff'rent Strokes, Wheel of Fortune and Growing Pains.

He is survived by his wife Tanya and his son's Robin, Brennan and Carter.
