Coaster enthusiast will have to wait a little longer this year. Cedar Point has announced the opening of their 2020 season will be postponed due to concerns surrounding the spread of coronavirus.

The park was scheduled to kick off their 150th Anniversary season on May 9th and debut several new attractions along with it. The park now says they plan to open the park and all Cedar Point Resort properties and the Cedar Point Marinas hopefully by mid-May or soon after.

In a statement, Cedar Fair CEO Richard Zimmerman states they will work with season pass holders and those who have made reservations. "For 2020 Season Passholders, we will be adding days to the park’s operating calendar to accommodate for the days the park is temporarily closed (against original 2020 operating calendar). Additionally, 2020 Season Passholders will enjoy added-value benefits to be announced at time of park opening"

He goes on to address pre-paid single day ticket holders and other questions park goers  may have. You can read his full statement and answers here.

This year Cedar Point will feature a new boat ride, multiple new food locations and the debut of their new Orion roller coaster.
