Care Packages Donated to Saginaw PD for Kids on the Spectrum

What a wonderful thing to have for kids in traumatic situations!

Last Thursday was a special day for four different police departments in Saginaw - they received Carter Kits to take along in their squad cars.

The kits are named after Carter Severs, the five-year-old son of a Saginaw Township detective. They include noise-canceling headphones, a weighted blanket, sunglasses and sensory toys. The kits can be used for people with ASD, sensory issues, etc. during a chaotic and possibly traumatic event.

They were put together by Saginaw firefighter Brandon Hausbeck, Justin Severs and realtor Andrew Keller, who also donated the kits.

They're hoping that the kits can help kids on the spectrum at the scene of crimes and accidents, and help reduce their anxiety. And we freaking love it.
